About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Application Engineer Manufacturing to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for the implementation, support, and continuous improvement of manufacturing-related IT solutions, with a strong focus on Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), shopfloor integration, and machine connectivity. You will work closely with various teams of the Operations and IT department and external vendors to ensure robust, scalable, and efficient digital solutions that support manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and support MES and shopfloor applications to improve production visibility, traceability, and efficiency across manufacturing, maintenance, warehousing, and quality.
- Integrate production machines and equipment with IT systems and ensure data integrity and real-time data flow between shopfloor systems and enterprise applications, e.g. ERP, IoT.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze manufacturing processes and identify digitalization opportunities.
- Lead or support IT projects related to manufacturing systems, including vendor selection, solution design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users and production staff.
- Ensure compliance with IT security, data privacy, and operational standards.
- Monitor system performance and proactively address issues to minimize downtime
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology or related preferred with a strong passion for emerging technologies.
- Proven experience with MES platforms and shopfloor IT such as Oracle MES, FORCAM MES FLEX, or similar.
- Knowledge of Industry 4.0, IIoT, and smart manufacturing concepts.
- Basic knowledge of database management, client-server environments, networking, and security.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, digital production systems, and machine integration.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
- Strong communication skills.
